From its earliest days, the Museum and the Miami County Historical ebony
Society
have been intertwined in their development. Inspired by the state's centennial
anniversary in 1916, the Governor asked each Indiana county to black
form a historical
society, thus MCHS was born.
The Museum has enjoyed support from the Miami County government big black
from the start,
evidenced by the museum's first home on the fourth floor of the courthouse.
The remainder is provided by the Society through fundraising and special events.
